SUNWORLD SAFARIS LTD is a Kenyan / Austrian owned Tour Operator, locally incorporated in December 1997 with headquarters in Nairobi and consultancies in Austria and the United Kingdom.

We specialize in tailor-made safaris and four-wheel drive car hire. Our aim is to provide top quality service and a "memorable safari experience". Having formed a personalized relationship with our guests and suppliers alike, we have managed to achieve clients' satisfaction in every aspect of their safari.

Being a relatively small organization we CARE about your safari experience. You will not be joined by 5 other safari guests or more in the safari vehicle, but experience a “private safari” and enjoy unlimited game viewing in your private and exclusive 4 x 4 safari equipped vehicle enhanced by the services of our highly qualified and professional safari guides, all members of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA).

We offer a wide range of exciting safaris taking you to Kenya's most popular game parks and reserves including the scenic and breathtaking Great Rift Valley Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha, Kenya’s premiere Game Reserve, the Masai Mara (highest concentration of game found in Africa); Amboseli, home to the largest herds of elephants (and best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa), and Samburu, where rare species of animals can be seen…

For the adventurous traveller we offer off the beaten track safaris away from the tourist populated National Parks & Reserves to discover and explore Kenya’s remote and less frequented destinations such as the Kakamega Forest; Kenya’s last remaining Tropical rainforest, Menengai Crater; the world’s second largest surviving volcanic crater, the scenic Lake Baringo and Bogoria and the famous Kitum Caves of Mt. Elgon where each night Elephant herds gather and begin a slow procession deep into the mountain following well-worn paths made by generations before them.

For those who want to experience Africa "under canvas" we offer self-drive or chauffeur driven ROOF TENT camping. Our Landcruisers / Pajeros are fitted with specially imported roof tents which can easily be put up anywhere. You will enjoy a “different safari” to the common holidaymaker. Being close to wildlife, listening to the sounds of nature and having the flexibility of unlimited game drives is adding “great value” to your safari adventure.

Having our own fleet of 4 x 4 vehicles maintained in our in-house workshop, we have several advantages over tour operators who rely on companies to provide them with transport. You can rest assured that you will be given a good quality safari style or luxury 4 x 4 vehicle and travel with one of our highly qualified and professional safari guides, all members of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA).

We contribute to sustainable conservation by supporting eco-friendly establishments and small, private camps / lodges that benefit the local community who in turn help to protect our unique heritage and wildlife. Much has been written about eco tourism and what tour companies do (or do not do) for the environment and wildlife. It appears that many travel organizations however remotely involved, use eco tourism as a marketing tool. As a result, this term has become just a buzzword and lost its true meaning.

We at Sunworld Safaris take our contribution to sustainable conservation extremely seriously and have initiated various activities and programmes. Some of our recent social activities in October / November only include:

• Another overnight trip for the slum children of St. Peters Catholic Informal School – Korogocho to Lake Nakuru National Park. The school is located in one of the largest slum areas in the country where education is not a priority, bearing in mind that most of the families live from hand to mouth. The school is the brainchild of the Catholic Church whose main objective amongst others is to eradicate poverty through education.
• We sponsored one-legged cyclist Dedan Ireri for completion of the 35 km annual Cycle With Rhinos at Lake Nakuru National Park. Ireri defied physical odds to finish eight out of 33 in the Kenya Wildlife Servicesponsored race that raised Kshs. 1.6 million to help in rhino conservation.
• We pledged to assist a team of Swiss Doctors for Stephan Holderegger’s Rhein Valley Hospital who will be coming to Kenya next year in March for four weeks to perform free operations for the poor at the hospital. During this period we will sponsor them with free transportation.
• A number of trips to Nairobi National Park / Lake Naivasha are planned for the street children of Boma Rescue and Nakupend Kuishi Homes over the next few months. The street children programme is one of the projects handled by Father Daniel Moschetti. They recently won a local competition with a cash price of US$ 3,000, for the best charity projects. This amount will be used for their school, currently sponsoring 900 school children, among them over 200 orphans and a handicapped class.
