Nyandarua District
Nyandarua district is part of five other districts that make up the central province in Kenya. It stretches from the Abadare Mountain Range to the Kinangop Plateau. Rainfall is bimodal starting in the months of April/May and Oct/Nov and averaging 900 to 1,500 mm per year. The Aberdare Mountain range influences temperatures, which range from 11-21 C. Frost is frequent in the months of January, July and September when night temperatures can get as low as 1.7 C.
Nyahururu town
The capital of Nyandarua district, was formerly known as Thompson Falls and is famous for having beautiful falls that drain from the Eweso Nyiro River from the Aberdare Mountain Ranges. Nyahururu is on the Junction of Nyeri/Rumurutu road and the Nyeri/Nakuru road. Nyahururu is also the highest town in Kenya making it a favorite training ground for Kenya's world-famous athletes.
