Kiambu District
Kiambu district is part of the central province of Kenya, close to Nairobi.
Kiambu town
Kiambu, also known as Kiambaa, is located at around 1°10 0 S, 36°49 60 E, in the elevation of about 1720 m. It has an urban population of 13.814. It is the capital if the Kiambu District, which bounds the northern border of Nairobi [1]. The town is near Nairobi (in south), Gatundu (NE), Limuru (NW), Kabete (SW), and Ruiru (east).
The town is surrounded by hilly Kikuyu farmland although under urbanisation as Nairobi is growing fast and more people settle the neighbouring towns. Apart from central Kiambu, there are large villages such as Ndumberi.
