Sand Island Beach Cottages - Tiwi Beach
Only 30 metres from the Indian Ocean, set back in the cooling shade of palm trees, our six self-catering cottages are fully equipped for the perfect beach holiday.
Accommodating from two - eight people, each cottage has it's own private verandah - an idyllic spot to savor the colors of a tropical sunrise or escape the heat of the mid-day sun.
Linen, towels, mosquito nets and fans are all provided. There is also the option of a cook and maid - leaving you only to worry about your next swim!
Dining:
Delicious fish and seafood can be bought daily from local fishermen. Fresh fruit and juices of the season are available from Sand Island's very own orchards.
Basic sundries are also available. Only 15 minutes away, the town of Diani has a range of shops and supermarkets to cater for all needs.

Deep Sea Fishing
The fishing at Shimoni (1 hour away) is some of the best in East Africa. Many world and regional records have been caught from boats leaving Shimoni for the prolific Pemba Channel. See http://www.bigame.com for details.
Dhow Trips to Wasini Island
Snorkel, scuba dive or swim with dolphins and turtles in Kisite - one of Kenya's top marine parks - followed by a Swahili seafood lunch on Wasini Island -get there by road or speed boat from Diani.
Shimba Hills National Park
Only 25kms away on a tarmac road Shimba Hills National Park is one of the only places in Kenya to see the rare Sable antelope.
Mombasa Old Town
Feel the charm of the Old Town and revel in the history of the Portuguese-built Fort Jesus.
Colobus Monkeys
Spend a day with researchers following troops of Colobus monkeys in the forests around Diani.
Diani nightlife
Visit the famous Ali Barbours Cave restaurant; boogie the night away in one of Diani's nightclubs - lots of choice and lots of fun!
Getting There:
By Road
Sand Island Cottages, Tiwi, are only 17.5kms south of Mombasa across the Likoni Ferry on the main Mombasa to Diani highway.
Signposted from the main road, from here it is only a short 3.5kms to the cottages and beach.
Bus to Diani;
From here taxis are readily available for the short journey to Sand Island Beach Cottages.
By Air
Fly to Moi International Airport, Mombasa. Taxis and cars for hire are available from the airport.
