Mwazaro Mangrove Lodge
Mwazaro Beach is situated at the coast of the Shimoni Peninsula, 14 km from the border of Tanzania. On a street made of asphalt, at about 70 km south of Mombassa, in the direction of Lunga Lunga, there is a left diversion to the "Highway to Shimoni". After about 8 km you will be able to see the sign of Mwazaro Beach. Turn right there and after 1 km you will reach Magical Mwazaro.
Underneath your feet you won't feel anything else than fine snow-white grains of sand. "Where God makes Holidays". This is a legendary sentence that has been said by a missionary to his pilgrims, when they reached Mwazaro Beach. Never before people have been that close to heaven than in this moment and it is understandable why this place puts a spell on guests
from all over the world.
Only when the tide is low the ocean shows its secret. It is thus possible to see the 4,5 m big seashell, which is thousands of years old. A one-hour walk at the beach to the Ramisi Delta or a short trip to the nearby fishery port, which is at the same place as The Holy Baobab, are very recommended.

Catering
Before Hans von Loesch - author of a cookery book and cook in his spare time - came to Kenya, he studied traditional cuisine and the art of spice at Zanzibar at a grocers for three months. The result is menus cooked with extraordinary flavour-variety, with herbs and precious spices, like real saffron and ingredients, which are usually only known by name. A menu with always-fresh caught fish is obligatory, everything not too hot. The Mwazaro-Cuisine is very well known by gourmets all over the world.
