Kicheche Mara Camp
A wonderful camp in the north-western outskirts of the Masai Mara Reserve is an awesome camp in a lugga which provides bushes and trees so that one cannot see the camp itself from a distance! The camp consists of 11 tents including family and honeymoon tents means not more than 22 to max 24 people at one time in the camp! Each tent has got 2 doubles or twin plus an additional daybed. The tents are spacious and have an adjacent bathtent with flush loos, bucket shower, bins etc. The chefs provide delicious meals for lunch and dinner. Meals are al fresco affairs under shady trees and the stars. They have a library tent where high tea is served prior to the afternoon gamedrive. A cosy fireplace is very inviting prior to dinner for a pre-dinner drink and smokers gather at the fireplace after dinner to diskuss daily wildlife encounters. Not more than 4 people in one landcruiser for the gamesdrives guarantee each and every body a very good sight and especially photograpghers are cared for by providing beanbags and platforms.
Kicheche Bush Camp
Location is in the northern outskirts of the Masai Mara Reserve - close to Bella's tree - this leopardess is very well known over the world because of BBC's big cat diary! The new (opened in july 2006!) bush camp has got awesome spacious tents providing all the modern amenities which are expected by the most discerning traveller! The tents here are a more modern contemporary design! Meals are delicious and are served in the mess tent where also high tea is served! They also have a cosy fireplace where guest gather after the daily gamedrive's routine! Andy is the host at kicheche bush camp and his great personality stands for a "experience of a lifetime" he is the most awesome host i have ever experienced..... both camp offer the opportunity to conduct full day activities which means the guest are free to drive for the whole day in the search of big cats, big and lesser game! At both camps it's almost up to the guest creativity how to spend the day! Both camps offer great "value for money" and i don't know another place where safari goers and their interests have such a priority! The daily routine is the same as at the Kicheche Mara Camp. As far as i am concerned it would make a great combination to let's say stay 4 nights at Kicheche Mara Camp and 3 or 4 at Kicheche Bush Camp as the landscape is different and also the game!
