Kitani Safari Lodge and Bandas
With over 21,000 sq kms of vast bush land Tsavo West is by far the largest National Park in Kenya. The western part of the park is home of the Kitani Safari Lodge consisting of 8 self catering bandas and the John Wayne Restaurant. It is set amongst the volcanic landscape and with the fresh waters of the Mzima and Kitani springs, the area is rich in wildlife.
The Kitani Safari lodge was probably the first lodge in Tsavo-West as it was originally built in 1954. It is now affiliated to the nearby Severin Safari Camp where you can make reservations.
The added attractions of the historical Poachers Lookout and a stunning view of the El Turesh Valley, Roaring Rocks and Tsavo River, make a visit to this area of the park a must.
Each self catering Banda has a private view of the park and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The Bandas accommodate a maximum of 4 people and have private bathroom facilities with WC, toilet and showers. The beds all have mosquito nets. There is running hot and cold water and power is generated from the nearby generator.
Prices start from 25 US$ pp per night.
