I don't have a favorite. I love watching them all, particularly watching their "spronking" with fast and graceful leaps. I know dik-diks are in short supply in some areas in Africa. They have suffered from overkill for the bushmeat trade.
However, I've come to the opinon that at least impalas are quite stupid. I don't know about the other species. At one camp where I stay regularly about 100 impalas come into camp at night to sleep to be safe from lions. However, the wily jackals join them and will lie beside the impalas for a night or two behaving themselves. Then all of a sudden they will grab a new baby impala, kill it and eat it. The stupid impalas haven't caught on to this for over a year and have lost over a dozen babies. Finally last week an impala buck and a mother impala starting chasing the jackal. It took an awfully long time for their parental instincts to kick in.
They are all marvelous to watch though.
