Leaders are dishonest, say South Africans

A survey released at the World Economic Forum at Davos in Switzerland found that many South Africans think their leaders are dishonest, the SABC reported on Thursday.

The survey, conducted by Markinor, found that 63 percent of South Africans thought their leaders were dishonest and 43 percent thought they were incompetent.

Almost half of the respondents felt that South African leaders had too much power and were unethical.

More 40 percent of South Africans felt that transparency and improved governance were important to restore their confidence in their leaders, Mari Harris of Markinor told the SABC. - Sapa
