By the way, the first part of Mr Loefler's response is very interesting and elicits sympathy. He has clearly considered the issues carefully. Unfortunately the goat analogy illustrates why he keeps on making these bad headlines and suggests that as a utilitarian he has an awful lot of difficulty understanding platonic ethics - "Loefler says eat elephants, not goats" would be one, "Loefler: When the elephants are gone we can populate the parks with goats" another..... No wonder he gets up people's noses.

The logical conclusion of the brand of utilitarianism he appears to be pushing is that it's all right to exterminate a minority of people for the sake of the majority too ..... I'm sure he doesn't think that, but he doesn't even seem to see it coming. Does he seek out abuse .... the hard road is the righteous road or something?

Sorry, I am "talking too much". I'm trying to put off a task. :-O

Trying to bring religion into this equation is fruitless. You say hunting for sport is un-Christian and against God's word? Well, He's sitting idle while population growth is out of control and affecting His wildlife. Where is religions' answer to this problem?
