A warm welcome to bushdrums.com and as Pippa said, what a negative story you and your family have lived through and way to start such a posting on our website.
What is most important is that your children, wife and yourself can actually talk about the story you lived through and that you are alive and well.
My father got taken hostage in Kenya when he was working in Mombasa / he was only kept for a short period and was let go once the bandits thought they were safe and far enough with the car and then they dropped him off out of the car in the middle of nowhere. However they did not touch him or hurt him, he was also lucky. This was around 5 years ago and was done in broad daylight.
