Anyone know when the wildlife bill comes up for vote?

Does anyone out there know when the Kenyans will be acting on the new wildlife bill? I think it should be coming up pretty soon.

Hopefully the new bill will continue the ban on sport hunting as well as finally set some land aside to create corridors for wildlife. If they don't, it will only mean more human-wildlife conflict in the future.

It takes nature millions of years to evolve a new species. It takes only minutes to eradicate one from the wild forever.

Jan - we're all waiting and hoping. I'll let you know if / when I hear anything.


I am quite confident that the hunting ban will continue, less confident, unfortunately, on the issue of lland conservation. It's much easier for them to say no to lobbying hunting / conservation groups than populations of Kenyan residents. Hopefully, they are able to find a compromising balance for the greater good.
