Yes, - I am a white African as I was born and raised in Africa but now live in Montepulciano, Tuscany where I have my own business. It is wonderful place to live and for my kids to grow up; however I can honestly say that my heart is in Africa!

Mori,

Pls could you describe in your own words your definitiion of "canned hunting"?
I oppose this sort of thing but I have read varying definitions in articles and it seems that word is being used 'loosely" and often out of context.

Canned Hunting.
There is no official definition in SA. The reason is that after years of trying to do so the Department of Environment was unable to come up with a definition which would address public concerns and also satisfy the hunting industry.
So the new Canned Hunting regulations do not even attempt to define what is Canned Hunting.

The only definition which addresses public concerns is that Canned Hunting is where the target animal is unfairly prevented from escaping the hunter, either by physical constraints (eg fencing) or by mental constraints (eg habituation to humans)
On this definition virtually all trophy hunting and most sport hunting in SA is canned to a greater of lesser degree.
