Plane makes emergency landing in Kenya

Nairobi - A Lufthansa cargo plane flying from South Africa made an emergency landing at Nairobi airport on Monday due to technical difficulties, a police official said.

The pilot reported a problem with the airplane's hydraulic system, and airport authorities cleared the way the emergency landing, said officer Joseph Mumira, who works at the airport.

The plane landed safely and no one was hurt, Mumira said, giving no further details about the problems with the aircraft. He said the pilot had requested earlier that emergency services stand by.

Not a great flyer myself - everytime I get away the worst part is the plane.

I'm with you Carsten. I love it also. Only the best part is NO TELEPHONES!!! Yeh! Hopefully the airlines will not start allowing cell phone calls on the planes, as they have discussed.

The sleep one gets on a long flight is also super, and something I look foward to. Helps to pass the time on a long haul.

It takes nature millions of years to evolve a new species. It takes only minutes to eradicate one from the wild forever.
