Kipper: Is that just a thorn with a small piece of cloth attached or were you trying to attach an earring and missed the ear?

You know how it is waiting for an urgent email
Jan I have studied that "Thorn" to work out what it was a number of times! I think it is a thornwith a little bit of branch attached.
I took an Eye lash check not sure why there is not one perhaps it is the photo angle?
I prefere this reason though.
True story!... Honest!
Theres an ellie in Zimbabwe that picks up cigarette butts & tucks them behind his ear till he finds a camp fire where he can select a burning log to light his cigarettes!
But as the economic crunch gets tighter tourists leave smaller butts!
This must be the fabled elephant!
Small butt!
Flaming log!
Singed eye lashes!
Would I lie??
Jan - you are right questioning whether they are different in different parts of Africa. Zambia e.g. estimated 30% of the population doesn't develop any tusks! Some conservationists and also scientists assume it's because of the excessive poaching since colonialists arrived.
Here you find also an interesting pic:

Kipper - excellent footage! And yes - No I also cannot see any lashes, Jan.
The drawing is amazing!
Isn't a giraffe's foot similar - tip toeing?
Could it be a difference with Forest Elephants that are usually smaller than open Tsavo like Elies? The forest ones are slighly small - used to swampy and covered areas - however no idea about the eyes?
Kipper - I will team up with you if you feel the ladies on this forum are ganging up on you...
