Severin Safari Camp

The Severin Safari Camp

The Severin Safari Camp, located in Tsavo-East National Park, consists of a reception area with adjacent dining room, bar and shop whilst you are accommodated in spacious tents sheltered under a Makuti roof with open terrace and walk in bathroom. All effort has been made to combine luxury with simplicity to blend neatly into the surrounding nature.

Eco-tourism

Bushdrums.com highly appreciates the efforts that have been made to build the camp with a full environmental impact management concept. The Severin Safari Camp proves, that tourism must not be on the expense of nature. The camp uses solar power and special power generators where even the heat of the exhaust is used to heat water whilst providing electricity to the camp during consumption peaks. A biological sewage plant uses bacteria to convert biodegradable sewage into fertile soil and irrigation water. Waste that cannot be degraded in this system is taken back to the main recycling plant in the coastal Lodge near Mombasa leaving behind a clean environment for future generations.

The Kibo Suite

At a discrete distance from the rest of the camp, the Kibo Suite offers the perfect hideaway for romantic couples that wish to have their privacy. Beside all luxury offered in the regular tents, the Kibo Suite also offers a big bath fed by natural spring water and herbal essences are to your disposal. An adjacent tent can be used as an extension to accommodate your children.
The vicinity of Africa’s biggest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, creates a stunning view from your veranda as you nip on your sun downer and recall the exiting impressions of the day.

The highlight of the day

The camp fire is the highlight of a day at the Severin Safari CampThe highlight of the Severin Safari Camp is however, the camp fire lit as the last rays of sun turn the plains into an even more peaceful golden coloured infinity before camp cooking serves a a la carte menu complimented by fine African wines. The Severin Safari Camp is easily accessible from the Mombasa Nairobi Road by taking the Mtito Andei gate into Tsavo-East.

The Severin Safari Camp has been suggested by our close friend Herbert Schaible (Herbie to all his friends) who has helped with an incredible amount of useful information which we have placed here for all to read, enjoy and hopefully experience.

If you have stayed at the Severin Safari Camp, we would appreciate your opinion and experiences which you can easily submit with the help of our review form.
