We offer a wide range of safari and holiday services to suit diverse travel needs in East Africa by organising and designing customised packages for our clients banking on our intimate knowledge of the country, national parks, geography and the people. We enrich our services with utmost creativity, professional flare and social warmth to make your safari with us truly memorable.

We champion knowledge based tourism to ensure our customers learn about our culture, our history, wildlife and general environment, hence making tourism more rewarding and exciting. Our safari portfolio range from wildlife and scenery viewing, bird watching, walking and cycling safaris to mountain climbing, study tours and honeymoon packages.

Through us you get to know East Africa better; for we not only know the conventional attractions but much more. We study your needs and work with you to arrive at best safari package because we don’t believe in mass tourism. In the process, we empower you to make decisions about your own holiday needs and experience. So our target is not just your expectations; we exceed them!!

Our guiding values include:

  • Upholding ideals of ecotourism which honours, respects and supports our ecosystems, our cultures and econo-political aspirations as a country;
  • Championing high standards in travel and safari packaging; we promote professional, ethical and human integrity in all our services;
  • Developing tourism beyond its business value; as a primary force in promoting peace and prosperity for humankind.

That is what inspires our mission that:

We shall always aspire to make travelling a rewarding investment by championing professionalism, knowledge and integrity in all our services.”
And we do everything possible to ensure this mission is shared practically with our clients, friends and business associates. That is how in the last 5 years of our operations, we have made a name as a dynamic, professional and positively ambitious tour company.

It is our practical believe that tourism can only subsist on environmental, social and economic integrity of the people. Hence in the spirit of developing tourism beyond its business value, we are also implementing practical projects to support environment and social economic growth of marginal communities where tourism thrives.

These projects include:

  • Across Kerio Cycling Tour – this is a cycling rally which we have individually conceived and on which we are working with Ministry of Tourism and other stakeholders to implement from this year. The 2-day rally will take place every year crossing Kerio Valley, (one of the most fascinating landscapes in Kenya) and Lake Bogoria Nature Reserve. The objectives of the annual event is to raise public awareness on the plights of the Rift Valley Lakes and raise funds for conservation;
  • We have teamed up with scholars from Moi University’s departments of Wildlife and Environmental Studies to found an environmental watchdog: Heritage Institute of Environment and Development which is already registered by the government. Through this we shall raise funds for environmental advocacy and research mainly in the Rift Valley.

Through these two projects Menengai Holidays joins the list of “socially responsible” tour operators in the region who have practical concern for conservation and eco-tourism. Participation in all these is welcome.

We also work very closely and support through corporate or individual membership the following institutions:
-         East African Wildlife Society;
-         Nature Kenya;

Sunworld Safaris and Car Rental http://bushdrums.com/index.php/kenya/kenyatouroperators/item/3313-sunworld-safaris-and-car-rental http://bushdrums.com/index.php/kenya/kenyatouroperators/item/3313-sunworld-safaris-and-car-rental

Sunworld Safaris and Car Rental

SUNWORLD SAFARIS LTD is a Kenyan / Austrian owned Tour Operator, locally incorporated in December 1997 with headquarters in Nairobi and consultancies in Austria and the United Kingdom.

We specialize in tailor-made safaris and four-wheel drive car hire. Our aim is to provide top quality service and a "memorable safari experience". Having formed a personalized relationship with our guests and suppliers alike, we have managed to achieve clients' satisfaction in every aspect of their safari.

The Fleet of 4x4 cars of Sunworld SafarisBeing a relatively small organization we CARE about your safari experience. You will not be joined by 5 other safari guests or more in the safari vehicle, but experience a “private safari” and enjoy unlimited game viewing in your private and exclusive 4 x 4 safari equipped vehicle enhanced by the services of our highly qualified and professional safari guides, all members of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA).

On Safari with Sunworld SafarisWe offer a wide range of exciting safaris taking you to Kenya's most popular game parks and reserves including the scenic and breathtaking Great Rift Valley Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha, Kenya’s premiere Game Reserve, the Masai Mara (highest concentration of game found in Africa); Amboseli, home to the largest herds of elephants (and best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa), and Samburu, where rare species of animals can be seen…

For the adventurous traveller we offer off the beaten track safaris away from the tourist populated National Parks & Reserves to discover and explore Kenya’s remote and less frequented destinations such as the Kakamega Forest; Kenya’s last remaining Tropical rainforest, Menengai Crater; the world’s second largest surviving volcanic crater, the scenic Lake Baringo and Bogoria and the famous Kitum Caves of Mt. Elgon where each night Elephant herds gather and begin a slow procession deep into the mountain following well-worn paths made by generations before them.

Roof Tent Camping offered by Sunworld SafarisFor those who want to experience Africa "under canvas" we offer self-drive or chauffeur driven ROOF TENT camping. Our Landcruisers / Pajeros are fitted with specially imported roof tents which can easily be put up anywhere. You will enjoy a “different safari” to the common holidaymaker. Being close to wildlife, listening to the sounds of nature and having the flexibility of unlimited game drives is adding “great value” to your safari adventure.

Unique Experience during Safari with Sunworld-SafarisHaving our own fleet of 4 x 4 vehicles maintained in our in-house workshop, we have several advantages over tour operators who rely on companies to provide them with transport. You can rest assured that you will be given a good quality safari style or luxury 4 x 4 vehicle and travel with one of our highly qualified and professional safari guides, all members of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA).

We contribute to sustainable conservation by supporting eco-friendly establishments and small, private camps / lodges that benefit the local community who in turn help to protect our unique heritage and wildlife. Much has been written about eco tourism and what tour companies do (or do not do) for the environment and wildlife. It appears that many travel organizations however remotely involved, use eco tourism as a marketing tool. As a result, this term has become just a buzzword and lost its true meaning.

We at Sunworld Safaris take our contribution to sustainable conservation extremely seriously and have initiated various activities and programmes. Some of our recent social activities in October / November only include:

  • Another overnight trip for the slum children of St. Peters Catholic Informal School – Korogocho to Lake Nakuru National Park. The school is located in one of the largest slum areas in the country where education is not a priority, bearing in mind that most of the families live from hand to mouth. The school is the brainchild of the Catholic Church whose main objective amongst others is to eradicate poverty through education.
  • We sponsored one-legged cyclist Dedan Ireri for completion of the 35 km annual Cycle With Rhinos at Lake Nakuru National Park. Ireri defied physical odds to finish eight out of 33 in the Kenya Wildlife Servicesponsored race that raised Kshs. 1.6 million to help in rhino conservation.
  • We pledged to assist a team of Swiss Doctors for Stephan Holderegger’s Rhein Valley Hospital who will be coming to Kenya next year in March for four weeks to perform free operations for the poor at the hospital. During this period we will sponsor them with free transportation.
  • A number of trips to Nairobi National Park / Lake Naivasha are planned for the street children of Boma Rescue and Nakupend Kuishi Homes over the next few months. The street children programme is one of the projects handled by Father Daniel Moschetti. They recently won a local competition with a cash price of US$ 3,000, for the best charity projects. This amount will be used for their school, currently sponsoring 900 school children, among them over 200 orphans and a handicapped class.

Further projects will be published as reviews. Please follow the link at the bottom of this article to read them.
