As with other planned meet ups there is great excitement at the outset only for the idea to slowly die a sad death & I'd hate to see this happen!.....Again.

We need to arrange dates & possible sites as well as who is definite!
I'll try to get the ball rolling next month possibly it may be an idea to get a TA to sort it but I'm scared of TA's & with the joint knowledge here I'm sure we could do better!

I am all for it and looking into Kenya however my dates are locked with school holidays. I will need to be back around the 8th to 9th January 2010. We are allowed to take 3 days on each side of Christmas holidays but cannot take the kids from school after this date.

Kenya seasons money wise:

- 20 Dec until March: High season (slighty cheaper than PEAK season)
- April/May: Low season but some camps close especially in the Mara
- July - end of October: PEAK season because of the migration

As Kenya has dropped the VISA fees to 25$pp as from 01 April 09 but nothing has been said
regarding reserve/park fees any season comes expensive.
Now staying within the Massai Mara comes cheaper than outside because of the fees.

That camp is right on the Mara river and sounds promising. The camp night per person should be around 250$ + reserve fee in 2010/peak season.

The camp yould be booked exclusively for the bushdrums safari.

I am sure the owner is prepared to negotiate

I'm looking for reasonable priced flying safaris in kenya. I would like to visit masai mara, amboseli, aberderes, lewa downs etc or something similar...any recommendations for safari companies? I'll be in kenya sept 7-18, 2009. Two people traveling. I'm also interested in excursion or cheap trip to mombasa as well and mt kenya and or mt kilimanjaro.

Is our Safari going to be a goer?

Just that after a disasterous trip to Sumatra I'm looking to the future & Africa for October / November.

The pennies may not stretch to a Bushdrums Safari as well as a November trip.

I'll open a new post if you could only add if your interested & the dates you could go it would help to see who wants to go & if anybody we vould come up with the dates & the trip.
