Canada lifts travel advisory

Canada has lifted its travel advisory against Kenya.

Canadian Trade Commissioner, Africa and Middle East, Ms Melanie Borgia, said her Government took the action because calm had returned in the country and to allow entry of investors and tourists.

She was speaking on Wednesday in Nairobi during a meeting between Commercial Trade Attaches and the Kenya Business Processing Outsourcing and Contact Society.

"The good news is that my country has lifted the travel advisory to Kenya to allow resumption of business between the two countries. We are also working hard to educate Canadian companies on Kenya’s potential," she said.

She pledged to market Kenya as a potential destination for outsourcing jobs due to its positive economic growth and a well-trained workforce.
