Nairobi - The Finnish embassy in Kenya has received terror threats, Finnish Ambassador Heli Sirve, said Wednesday.
The three threats, received on Saturday by email, said that several Western embassies were targets of an attack that would come from Ethiopia, Sirve told The Associated Press. Only the Finnish Embassy was named in the messages.
"We checked with the Americans, British, Scandinavians and several others, but no one else seems to have received similar threats," she said.
The emails, sent to the embassy's email inbox, did not say when a possible attack would happen. The messages used Somali senders' names, Sirve said.
Police were investigating the threats, and the embassy has increased security. Terrorist threats targeting Finnish interests are rare, Sirve said.
