I went into Kenya Airways again this morning. I wanted to book Amsterdam - Nairobi and return. On the "from" menu the only non-African cities were Hong Kong, Paris and London. Thus it didn't give me a choice of from Amsterdam to Nairobi. It did, however, give Amsterdam as a choice from Nairobi.
Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that Kenya Airways is part of the KLM and Northwest group. Since Schiphol is mostly KLM, perhaps they block out Kenya Airways. I will use the Kenya Airways contact page and do some further inquiries. If I get any interesting information I'll let you know.

oops - obviously missed that topic....
i think kenya airways has no unrestricted passenger rights out of amsterdam.....the same with cdg in paris.
maybe that is going to change...
regarding open sky:
south african airways flies to lusaka and livingstone - both from joburg. but out of zambia they fly joburg directly and not via livingstone as they have no pax rights coming from lusaka resulting in flying lusaka-livingstne on SAA means flying lusaka-joburg//joburg-livingstone which is insane
