Pippa, the 3 metres or more is not because we fear they might fill the hole but helps with the smell. If it is deep enough and has a "breather pipe" to allow gasses to escape and you throw plenty of fresh ash after every use, there is hardly any smell at all. A basket of pot pourri helps of course

by the way: how it is done this "quote" thing?????????
If you want to make only one quote, you can simply click on the reply button of this specific post. It will fill your text-field with the text of the post you are refering to. It will be automatically marked with the quote command in the beginning and at the end. Now you can also delete the text that is irrelevant for your answer.
If you wish to quote more than one part, you must place these quotes manually. Simply copy and paste the text of your choice into your answer. Then mark it and press the quote icon in the menu. (the little speaking bubble like we know it from cartoons).
Another option is to click this icon first (which will start the quote), then copy and paste the text and at the end, press the quote icon again to finish the quotation.
Basically it is the same system as with changing colour or making text bold.
If you need more help, please send me a PM.
thanks carsten...........
bwanamich, at oliver's they use to set the sh.. on fire after the guests left and before nwe ones arrived! until the moment tim told us that they burn these "leftovers" i didn't even know that you can burn "it"
You can burn it if it is dry unless you add something likekerosene which would leave a smaell of fuel. Many bush hunters still use dry elephant dung to cook with....
