In re-reading the above arguments and those of other similar threads, one extremely important point that has been overlooked in these discussions is tha tof poverty alleviation. Improving the latter has huge repercussions on wildlife. The vast majority of subsistance poaching is as a direct result of poverty where the culprit is unable to purchase protein/food. They have to rely on poaching for this. If one can alleviate poverty in a community through wildlife than it serves 2 purposes; reducing poaching incidents and improving tolerance of human-wildlife conflict. Both are good for wildlife conservation.....
