Dear Cody:

Thank you so very much for your Mara Leisure Lodge ratings (can be seen under latest trip reports). Your report was excellent.

I wish the Kenya Tourist Board would hire you to do all the updated hotel/camp ratings. I understand they are going through the updating now. They need people with international experience to do it. Why? Because by using locals who may not have running water or electricity in their homes - any improvement seems great to them. They don't see the small things that need to be done like someone with international experience would. I've stayed in many Nairobi hotels and I feel they are all over-rated.

At times I have been reluctant to say anything about shortcomings to hotel/camp managers because some don't take it well. However, it is by listening to what people like you say that improvements can be made.

Thank you for your honest report.

You are most welcome and thank you very much for your kind words. I could not agree more with you. A lot of accommodation is really over rated and expensive.
I have several more reports to write on other camps, hotels and restaurants. It just takes a lot of time so I will be posting them as and when I have time.
