There is another setback in Kenyan tourism:
Camps - not only in the Massai Mara - requests their guests to leave camp on the morning service to Nairobi.
These camps happily arrange a guide and visits to some of the Nairobi site like beadwork factory, Giraffe Manor, Karen Blixen museum etc etc.
Have thy now lost gravity completely? Tourist don't fly for up to 18 hours to o shopping in Nairobi. Well mostly. Is it supposed to be fun to hang around and visit sites getting dusty and sweaty just prior to a long-haul flight instead of staying in camp until the afternoon flight, having a shower prior to departure and consider not only the camp bill but also the service "royal" ?
Camps which charge 600US$+ pppn request guests to vacate the tent by 09.00h!
Mostly these guests fly out to Wilson and have to hang around Nairobi for the whole day and evening as their flights leave in the late evening hoirs or even early morning hours for Europe or USA.
Isn't the tourism suffering enough? Besides the obvious increase in greed we experiences for years now camp owners do their utmost to embarrass guests even more?
I would love to take Kenya out of the portfolio for a long time to come. Believe me.
