Delta airline's maiden flight from Atlanta to Nairobi - using a Boeing 757-300ER, with a 221 seats capacity.

Kenya 's tourism industry will celebrate the inaugural Delta Airlines Nairobi-Atlanta flight, which is scheduled to arrive at Nairobi 's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport around 4.30 p.m., next Wednesday, June 03, 2009. Delta airline's maiden flight is using a Boeing 757-300ER, with a 221 seats capacity, and will eventually be flying over 800 travellers per week from Atlanta to Nairobi.

I don't know how successful that new Delta flight will be. Unless you are in New York or Atlanta it makes flying time too long. I looked into it prior to booking my July flight. I would have had to fly from Boston to Atlanta and instead of 17 hours flight time it would have been 23 hours. Not worth it for me.

That is why I wonder about the Kenyan flower people thinking their flowers will get here quicker. Yes, Atlanta is Delta's hub and they fly from there all over the States. However, you still have to add flying time to whatever it takes from Nairobi-Atlanta. I don't know if those flowers will be any better off or not.
