Just got a note from Kenya this morning.

With the Kenyan election coming up, and people wanting votes again. "KWS was ordered to sign for Amboseli to be turned over to the Ollkejuado County Council. The head of KWS is arriving in Amboseli today to hand it over, but mostly on a campaign mission. This is a very stupid thing to do because Maasai votes will not take him anywhere - there aren't many votes there and they won't vote for him. This is one of the sad things which really hurts when we know what will happen. The park will be run down and wildlife will not have any security. Money wil go into people's pockets and we will have fewer tourists here".

it's sad they are going to experience the decline in tourism - but at the animals expenses
you see - humans are just stupid and won't listen. they are just driven by greedyness!

It would be interesting to see if Raila Odinga wins the election if he could reverse this illegal move made by
President Kibaki.

I won't hold my breath as the Kenyan Courts have been fooling around with this for about two years already. Seems no-one has the guts to made the legal and correct decision.

This has been going on longer than 2 years.
The worst part is that they also "promise" land to the Masai for a vote and give them land placed on wildlife coridoors.
