I just got emails from two friends in Kenya and they gave me astounding reports.

At Satao Camp in Tsavo East they just had over 300 buffalo at the waterhole! Usually these large herds of buffalo are found closer to the Voi area or near Aruba Dam. In 11 trips to Satao I have never seen that many buffalo close to camp so this is unusual. Because of all the buffalo, of course there were also many lions roaring every night.

I also got an email from the Managing Director of Southern Cross Safaris. He had been to the Kimana area where they are finishing up the building of Elorai Camp. They had a herd of 100 eland there! In all 11 trips I have never seen that many eland together.

All this sounds fantastic, and I wish I could be there right now instead of waiting until the end of July.

It takes nature millions of years to evolve a new species. It takes only minutes to eradicate one from the wild forever.

can imagine that you want to rush over
after all i guess there must be something really going on because of these remarkable shifts in wildlife............
regrettably we had to cancel satao due to business which doesn't allow the trip
but it's on the agenda.....and we visit as soon as there is a chance!
