Your opportunity to hear from Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick as she makes a rare appearance in the UK
From Monday 6th to Friday 10th September 2010 the DSWT we will be holding a photographic exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in London. Protector of the Giants, the exhibit will feature a stunning selection of elephant orientated photographs from the DSWT’s orphans’ project and beyond.
As if that wasn’t enough, on the evening of Tuesday 7th September there will be a ‘one and only’ keynote speech by our founder and chair, Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick DBE, focusing on her lifetime’s work with elephants. This is a genuinely rare opportunity to listen to Dame Daphne recount her experiences and share the unrivaled knowledge she possesses of Africa’s elephants and other wildlife. Having spent the last 50 years living side by side with Kenya’s wild animals and acknowledged internationally as a pioneer in the conservation movement, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
The Protector of the Giants photographic exhibition shall be open daily, between 10am and 5pm in the Pavilion at London’s Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington. Entrance to the exhibition will be free and limited edition prints of the images displayed will be available to purchase.
Those wishing to attend Dame Daphne’s keynote speech on Tuesday 7th September, will need to purchase a ticket from our dedicated website www.forellies.org in the first instance, or call 01372 844 608. Tickets are £21 each and all ticket holders will be entered into a draw to win a signed limited edition print from the exhibition. Tickets are limited and so we cannot guarantee availability to any person wishing to purchase a ticket on the day.
Doors will open at 6pm on Tuesday 7th September to ticket holders, with evening viewing of the photographic exhibition and a cash bar available until 10pm. Dame Daphne’s talk in the Ondaatje Theatre will begin at 7.30pm.
