When were you in Meru with the elephant grass so high? Were you able to peer over the grass to see any lesser kudu, a rare species that I understand lives in Meru?

Sorry for coming back to your question rather late but I just returned from East Africa.
I visited in October 2006 and spotting was tricky. The grass swollowed a lion easily. But a good tracker will fulfill as they know the park like their jacket pocket!

What about writing to Cheli + Peacock and ask them driectly! They might re-direct you to Elsa's where they have first hand info as you are very particular about the lesser Kudu!
Not to waste time and money - it's worth a try to get that first-hand info - whether you decide on Elsa's or not
