Hopefully this will bring some work to Kenya again - and reduce park fee maybe....?

Don't hold your breath on reduction of park fees. I don't know about the Mara reserve fees, but I've heard from KWS in the last two weeks that the new fee schedule will be in effect January 2009. Wonder if they will be going up to the $60.00 a day then? I'm sure they will be trying to make up what they lost due to the clashes.

That is crazy - maybe with the dollar being low for now they think they can cash in when it bounced back - which it will.
60.00 Dollars - that is 240.00 - next time I fly over with my wife and kids - per day...!!

it's amazing how also the camps are not afraid of increasing their rates.
cottars now charges 110$ per way for getting its fly in guests from keekorok to the camp!
obviously they are doing great without our help
another camp had a special for july and august leaving the agents with a margin of less than 10% which means they want to make their share and leaving the agents with almost nothing.

it's becoming more difficult to market kenya!
