I agree with you, Jan. Most children play with guns and pretend to shoot anything. They will even use a simple stick to represent a gun and point it at their parents yelling out "bang-bang". Does that mean, they will grow up killing their parents? No.

Bwanamich's point was a different one. His 4 year old daughter already learned that you DONT shoot any animal. Compare this with the child of a poacher and see if you find the same comprehension there.

i am not speaking of these kids who do this "päng-päng-päng-stuff" which we all did.. i am wondering that a 4-year-old speaks about killing!!!!!! that's a completely different story! this youngsters obviously considers killing a buffalo a normal thing

She doesn't see it as killing and even if she would have used the word killing, you must still assume that she doesn't comprehend the real meaning behind it.

do you have children? If you do you would understand that 4 year olds, as Carsten says, do not yet understand the difference between life and death. And for your own peace of mind, know that I do not intend to force my children to become hunters. I will try to educate them about hunting and its benefits if done properly and then the choice is theirs.

No contradiction at all. Controlled hunting has many long term benefits to wildlife. However, as you are not prepared to accept any reasoning in this regards, no point discussing further. We´ll agree to disagree...
