This has been a problem edit from the start & has taken me a number of hours to whittle it down to a presentable presentation.
In a number of cases to get the shots the camcorder had to be hand held above the reeds at high zoom & to cap it all I had to upload it a number of times to get a decent viewing on Youtube.
Hope it was worth it & you find it interesting.

Have you ever seen the elephants really swimming across a large lake? I've seen it on TV, but I've never seen it while on safari, just babies swimming in a deep waterhole. I know they are fantastic swimmers. Once watched a video of eles crossing a lake with someone in a makoro getting much too close and the matriarch charged them and overturned the makoro.

Would love to see that some time.

Jan, the Zambezi is a great place to witness elephants swimming. The river is so deep that they have to swim when they cross from Zambian Lower Zambezi NP into Zimbabwe\'s Mana Pools NP. It\'s a fantastic sight with only the trunk rising out of the water.

I may just have something... I need to check! But we parked up overlooking an island with Ellies on it, I can't remember but they may have swam to shore! As well as another herd crossing further up.
This was Lake Kariba, I'll need to check.

Kipper: I enjoyed the video of the elephants swimming until I saw the mahout poking and prodding the elephant. That kind of ruined it for me.
