KWS at it again! Greedy!!!
Family of four for 14 days in the parks = $5,040 just in park fees!!!???? That is insanity!!! They will be killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
well that will take care of the parks being crowded. no one is going to pay those kinds of fees.
Kenya somehow is going over the top:
AGROFUEL plants distroying the Tana Delta
The huge harbour built in Lamu
Deforestation Mau forest
Carbofuran killing the vultures, cats and poisoning people
and now plastering all parks with lodges and hotels. Isn't Kenya already a mass destination? Oh well, there are some parks left for destruction.
It's hilarious.............how can Kenyans allow that to happen?
The final nail into that coffin will be the Serengeti Highway.
I just could freak out!
Pippa: I don't think the average Kenyan is even aware of it. Many of them have never had the opportunity to visit a park.
What is hard for me to understand is that with supposedly educated people, why can't they see what they will be doing against conservation? For instance Tsavo is a terribly arid area getting very little rain - yet in the newest lodge, Aruba, KWS allowed them to put in a pool. It just doesn't make any sense at all. Aruba Dam is the largest water source for the animals, and part of the year it is just muck. When it starts drying p the hippos travel to Satao to live in the waterhole until it rains again to flll Aruba. Even the Galana River is often very low. Last year the aniamls all over the country were dropping dead from lack of water and food. Now they want to add another 13 lodges/camps? All the tourists from all the new lodges/camps will be showing up at Aruba Dam (when it isn't dry) to see wildlife and it will be a horrible traffic mess causing frustration and harrassment for the wildlife.
Pure greed on Kenyas part. They need to wake up before it is too late to save their wildlife.
amazing what the love of money can do... but in the end there won't be any money because there won't be any tourist.... because there won't be any animals
