I know you will be happy with them. If you are going to be with the guide the entire time you might ask for Joshua or Gideon. I know both of them personally and they are both excellent and both have their silver ratings. I don't know if they are available for the dates you are going, but it certainly doesn't hurt to request them if they are free.

I think either of them would be fine with kids. I know I met Joshua's family about 4 years ago and he has fairly young kids, so I'm sure he is used to being around them. Gideon is a true gentleman and I'm sure he also would make your son feel very special. These are only two of SXS silver guides thatI know personally. I know there are other silver guids who are excellent, but I can personally vouch for either Joshua or Gideon
I know they both do long safaris, so I suppose it will depend on whom is available at the time of your safari.
